“The Children Will Come in God’s Time” – Betsy Obaseki Replies Oshiomhole

Mrs. Betsy Obaseki, First Lady of Edo State, has addressed recent comments made by Senator Adams Oshiomhole regarding her childlessness.

Speaking during a Zoom meeting with Edo women living abroad, Mrs. Obaseki shared words of comfort and encouragement to women facing similar challenges, emphasizing that being without children does not define their value or worth.

During the meeting, Mrs. Obaseki reassured the women that motherhood will come in God’s time and urged them not to be disheartened by insensitive remarks. “The children will come in God’s time,” she stated, encouraging women to remain hopeful and keep their heads high.

Reflecting on her own experiences with miscarriages and the loss of children, Mrs. Obaseki shared, “I would like to say to every woman and sister, if you feel hurt by whatever you heard; for me, I haven’t paid much attention to it.”

She added that women should seek God’s purpose and find fulfillment in life despite their circumstances. Mrs. Obaseki also highlighted the importance of appreciating what they already have, such as supportive spouses, family, and friends.
