Galatasaray’s manager, Okan Buruk, has revealed that Victor Osimhen’s loan agreement with Napoli includes a January transfer clause. However, the Nigerian striker has expressed his commitment to remain with the Turkish club for the entire season.
During a press conference on Sunday, Buruk confirmed the details of the 25-year-old forward’s loan, which has generated significant interest since his move. The Super Eagles star joined Galatasaray on the final day of the summer transfer window after unsuccessful negotiations with Al-Ahli and Chelsea.
Buruk said Osimhen has repeatedly assured the club of his intention to stay. “Osimhen has the intention of staying here until the end of the season. He also wants to stay; he said the same thing at the beginning,” said Buruk. Despite the existence of the January clause, the manager emphasized that the player’s decision will ultimately shape his future.
The clause reportedly allows for a possible transfer during the winter window, but Buruk stressed that Galatasaray will do everything possible to keep the prolific forward. “If the player wants to stay, Galatasaray will do whatever it takes to keep him, even if it means pushing the limits financially,” he added.
Since arriving in Istanbul, Osimhen has been in stellar form, scoring eight goals and delivering four assists in just nine matches across all competitions. While discussions around his future continue, the player’s on-field performances have been a major boost for Galatasaray’s campaign.
