“Things Will Change” — Former Minister Speaks On Tinubu’s Cabinet Reshuffle

Former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu, recently voiced her unwavering support for Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, despite facing personal and professional challenges.

At her 38th birthday celebration held in Abuja, Edu shared her belief in Tinubu’s leadership and her hope for a brighter future for Nigeria.

Edu’s support comes on the heels of a suspension from her ministerial post by President Tinubu on January 8. Her suspension followed the emergence of a controversial memo where her office reportedly requested the transfer of N585 million to a private account.

As a result, Tinubu called for an investigation, directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to examine the financial dealings within the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

Despite these difficulties, Edu’s confidence in Tinubu’s administration remains strong. During the celebration, attended by close friends, family, and supporters, Edu expressed her gratitude to those who stood by her, particularly Nigerian youths.

“I want to thank God for all of you. Thank you for standing by me and supporting Nigerian youths,” she said.

She continued, “I would use this opportunity to pray for our dear country, and I am confident that Nigeria will be better. I am confident that indeed the hopes of Nigerians will be renewed.”

Edu expressed her faith in Tinubu’s leadership, stating, “I am confident that God will give the president, our leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the wisdom to manage this country. And I am confident that things will change for the better.”
