‘This Chapter Is Over’: Ronaldo Sparks Exit Rumors from Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked speculation about his future with Saudi club Al Nassr after posting a short but meaningful message on X late Monday night.

“This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all,” he wrote, leaving fans and experts wondering if his time at the club is coming to an end.

Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr is set to expire this summer, and the timing of his message comes just days after a crucial loss for the team. On May 26, 2025, Al Nassr lost a key Saudi Pro League match 3-2 against Al Fateh. Although Ronaldo scored his 25th goal of the season — bringing his total to 99 goals with Al Nassr — his efforts could not prevent the defeat.

At one point in the game, Al Nassr was leading, but defensive mistakes allowed Al Fateh to come back and win. This loss, combined with Al Hilal’s victory over Al Qadsiah on the same day, ended Al Nassr’s hopes of qualifying for the AFC Champions League this season.

Now, the club’s only chance to compete in a continental tournament depends on Al Ittihad winning the King Cup, which would open a spot in the secondary AFC competition for Al Nassr.

This setback creates uncertainty about Ronaldo’s next steps. Throughout his legendary career, Ronaldo has played for major clubs including Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, and of course Al Nassr. He also holds many records with Portugal’s national team.

Recently, Ronaldo reached two huge milestones: scoring 900 career goals and appearing in his 1,200th professional match. These achievements show that he still remains a major force in football despite his age.

Although Ronaldo has previously used similar wording to indicate changes in his career path, this latest message leaves everyone curious about where he might go next.
