Nigerian activist and social critic, Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has taken a bold stand against the Lord’s Chosen Church over a series of controversial testimonies. He has expressed his dissatisfaction with the church, calling for an investigation into what he perceives as misleading claims shared by its members. VDM is urging the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to step in and scrutinize the situation.
The recent outcry from VeryDarkMan was sparked by a viral testimony from a woman in the church. The woman claimed that she was attacked by four armed robbers but miraculously managed to overpower them. According to her, she disarmed the robbers and took what she initially described as an “AK-27.” However, during the testimony, the pastor corrected her, clarifying that the weapon was actually an AK-47.
This event raised concerns for VDM, who believes that such testimonies are far-fetched and mislead believers. In response, he expressed his frustration in a video shared on his Instagram account, criticizing the church for allowing these exaggerated stories to continue without any form of verification. In his post, he wrote: “CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA, get ready for me ooo. This nonsense needs to stop. Now they’re even claiming to have spiritual iron in their heads? All these Chosen members…”
VDM further indicated that he plans to pursue legal action if necessary, to ensure that the issue is addressed. He believes the church is fostering a dangerous culture by promoting exaggerated and unbelievable testimonies, which may lead to people being misled in their faith.
