Tinubu Arrives Anambra on Official Tour, to Unveil New Projects

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Anambra State on Thursday, May 8, 2025, as part of an official visit aimed at strengthening federal-state relations and unveiling a series of completed infrastructure projects across the state.

The presidential aircraft touched down at Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri at exactly 12:17 p.m. The president stepped out dressed in the traditional Akwete fabric, paired with a signature red Igbo cap.

He was welcomed with full ceremonial honors, including a rendition of the national anthem and a formal salute from members of the Nigerian Army, Navy, and Air Force.

Accompanying the president on this trip was his special adviser on security, Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, along with other top aides and federal officials.

Welcoming him at the airport were prominent state figures, including Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo; his Deputy, Onyekachukwu Ibezim; members of the State House of Assembly; and respected dignitaries from across the region.

Following the reception, Tinubu entered a waiting official vehicle with Governor Soludo as they proceeded to the scheduled project sites.

During his visit, Tinubu is set to commission a number of important developments completed under the Soludo administration.

Some of the key projects on the agenda include the newly built State Government House, the Solution Fun City, a modern Governor’s Lodge—the first of its kind in 34 years—and a fully renovated State House of Assembly complex.

Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, the special adviser to Governor Soludo on political matters, noted in a statement that the president’s visit would also feature a town hall meeting.

The interactive session is planned to take place at the newly revamped Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka and will bring together major stakeholders, traditional rulers, youth leaders, and community representatives from across the state.
