Tinubu Bags Chieftaincy Title in Anambra State

President Bola Tinubu has been honored with the prestigious chieftaincy title of ‘Dike si mba Anambra’ by the traditional rulers of all 179 communities in Anambra State.

The title, meaning “warrior from the Diaspora,” was presented to the President during a formal ceremony at the Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka on Thursday.

Noted for his commitment to national development, President Tinubu was in Anambra for a one-day working visit to launch several key projects completed by the state government under Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo’s administration.

The title was conferred by the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, Igwe Chidubem Iweka (Ogalagidi, Eze Iweka III), who expressed the royal fathers’ appreciation for the President’s contributions to the nation.

“This is a title from all the royal fathers in the 179 communities of Anambra State,” Igwe Iweka stated. “The title is called ‘Dike si mba Anambra,’ meaning ‘warrior from the Diaspora,’ and it is in recognition of your good works across the country.”

The Igwe went on to praise Tinubu’s efforts in governance, particularly in the area of infrastructure development. “We welcome you to Anambra, and we salute you for honoring our invitation. Your efforts in governance are positively impacting every nook and cranny of the country. With your efforts, we have seen critical infrastructure such as key roads that connect the Second Niger Bridge as well as other projects in our communities,” he added.

The Igwe concluded his remarks by praying for more wisdom for the President as he continues to lead the country.

In his response, President Tinubu thanked the traditional rulers for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of unity for national progress.

“Our diversity must lead to prosperity; we must work together to lead Nigeria. We must commit ourselves for the development of the country,” Tinubu said. He expressed deep gratitude for the honor, calling the occasion “historic” and one he would cherish for the rest of his life.

The event was graced by several notable dignitaries, including National Security Adviser Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, Ogun State Governor Chief Dapo Abiodun, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Abia State Governor Alex Otti, Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, and Minister of Works Dave Umahi.

During his visit, President Tinubu also commissioned multiple projects, including the New State Government House, the Governor’s Lodge, the Solution Fun City, the Emeka Anyaoku Institute for International Studies and Diplomacy, and several other key developments at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka.
