Tinubu Congratulates Remo Stars FC on Historic Nigerian League Win

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Remo Stars Football Club on their remarkable victory in the 2024-2025 Nigerian Premier Football League season. The achievement, which has brought great pride to Ikenne and the wider Ogun State community, marks a major moment in the club’s history.

The President described the victory, achieved just four years after Remo Stars climbed into the top division, as a clear sign of the team’s hard work, discipline, and strong spirit. Tinubu noted that the success is a result of the relentless efforts of the players, coaches, and management, who refused to give up despite facing setbacks in previous seasons.

Tinubu pointed out the resilience shown by the team, who had fallen short of the title in the past three campaigns but kept pushing forward. He noted their unwavering determination and said their story should serve as motivation for other football clubs in the country to keep chasing their goals with passion and belief.

He also praised the leadership and dedication of the club’s owner and chairman, Mr. Kunle Soname. According to the President, Soname’s commitment to growing football at the grassroots level—especially through building a modern stadium in Ikenne—has created important opportunities for young talents in Nigeria.

Now crowned champions of Nigeria, Remo Stars will represent the nation in the upcoming CAF Champions League. Tinubu urged the team to maintain the same fighting spirit and concentration as they face the best clubs across Africa. He said their journey is far from over and expressed hope that they would bring home continental glory.
