The assault, carried out by suspected armed herdsmen, claimed the lives of over 200 people, leaving many others injured and displaced.
Touching down at the Nigeria Air Force Base Airport in Makurdi around 12:58 pm, President Tinubu was warmly received by top government officials.
Among those present to welcome him were the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia.
Several lawmakers from Benue, including the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, were also at the airport. Governors from other North Central states, federal ministers, and presidential aides were also part of the welcoming delegation.
From the airport, President Tinubu headed straight to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi. There, he met with survivors of the brutal attack.
