Tottenham Humiliates Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford: Bruno Fernandes Sent Off

Manchester United faced a devastating loss at Old Trafford, falling 3-0 to a dominant Tottenham Hotspur side. The defeat adds more pressure on United manager Erik ten Hag, whose team now looks to recover from their poor form.

Tottenham made their intentions clear from the very beginning, taking control of the match from the first whistle. In just the third minute, Spurs’ defender Micky van de Ven made a strong run down the pitch and delivered a perfect pass to Brennan Johnson. Johnson finished the move brilliantly, giving Spurs an early lead.

United struggled to keep up with Tottenham’s energy. Shortly after the opening goal, Johnson came close to doubling his tally, but his shot struck the post following a swift Spurs counterattack.

Manchester United had a brief moment of hope when Marcus Rashford crossed the ball to Alejandro Garnacho, who almost equalized. However, his volley hit the post, leaving United still chasing the game.

As the first half progressed, Tottenham had more opportunities. Timo Werner wasted a great chance to increase their lead, shooting weakly at United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana.

The turning point of the match came just before halftime. United’s captain, Bruno Fernandes, made a reckless tackle on James Maddison, resulting in a straight red card. This left United with ten men and deepened their troubles.

Erik ten Hag made two substitutions at the break in an attempt to save the game, but Tottenham struck again shortly into the second half. Brennan Johnson’s pass took a deflection off Matthijs de Ligt, setting up Dejan Kulusevski to score Spurs’ second goal in the 48th minute.

United goalkeeper Onana made several impressive saves to keep his side in the game, denying both Timo Werner and Dominic Solanke with a spectacular double-save. Despite this, United could not find a way back into the match. Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro had chances to score, but neither could find the net.

Tottenham sealed their victory in the 78th minute when substitute Pape Matar Sarr assisted Dominic Solanke for Spurs’ third goal. This final blow confirmed Manchester United’s dismal night and gave Tottenham a resounding 3-0 win.

The defeat leaves Manchester United with serious questions to answer as they try to regain their form, while Tottenham continues to impress under their new leadership.
