Donald Trump has issued a strong warning to Iran, saying that any attack on the United States would trigger a powerful military response “at levels never seen before.” The former president made this statement as tensions rise in the Middle East following Israel’s strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites.
Speaking through a post on his Truth Social account, Trump made it clear that while he had prior knowledge of Israel’s actions, the United States was not involved. “We had nothing to do with the attack on Iran, tonight,” he wrote.
The Israeli military launched air raids on multiple Iranian sites early Friday. Tehran confirmed that the attacks killed several people, including key military figures and scientists working in nuclear facilities. In response, Iran launched a barrage of missiles at Israeli targets, further raising fears of a larger conflict.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has promised continued action against what he called the “targets of the ayatollah regime.” Trump, meanwhile, warned Tehran against turning its anger toward Washington.
“If we are attacked in any way, shape or form by Iran, the full strength and might of the US Armed Forces will come down on you at levels never seen before,” Trump posted.
He also noted the possibility of peace, writing, “We can easily get a deal done between Iran and Israel, and end this bloody conflict!!!”
On Friday, Trump also urged Iran to consider negotiations rather than provoke further violence. He noted that Israel is prepared to escalate its military campaign even more severely if Tehran refuses to stand down.
