Two clips from recent editions of Inside Sources with Laolu Akande have earned top spots in Channels Television’s Top 5 Most Viewed Videos of the Week, echoing the rising trajectory of the interview programme in the country
Announced on the weekly Channels TV Programme BEAMS on Monday, a clip from INSIDE SOURCES WITH LAOLU AKANDE came in third and first. The ranking was for the 5 most viewed videos of the week.
Coming in at number three is a fiery appearance by activist and publisher Omoyele Sowore, who commented on the programme hosted by the former presidential spokesperson about the decline in the vibrancy of student unionism and its leadership in Nigeria.
Speaking on upper Sunday’s edition of Inside Sources, Sowore alleged that the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has become an extension of the ruling party, as its thuggery wing.
“That’s what NANS has become,” Sowore said. “It has become like an organisation for people who engage in thuggery outside to become, of course, the thuggery wing of the ruling party or whomever is in charge.”
Coming in at number 5 video was a video of the Chairman of BUA, the billionaire Abdul Samad who said during a recent visit to the Presidential Villa that the price of food prices in the country would continue to crash, warning hoarders to desist.
At 4th position was a video of the Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno saying if he discovers that a Commissioner in charge of a site is absent while he is inspecting the work, such a one would be fired.
But a clip from INSIDE SOURCES WITH LAOLU AKANDE beat all those videos, topping the chart.
At the number one most viewed video was the clip that had a hard-hitting interview on Inside Sources featuring actor and politician Kenneth Okonkwo, who criticised the economic hardship under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
His remarks, aired on last Friday’s edition of the show, struck a chord with viewers.
“The World Bank was even merciless in their submission,” Okonkwo stated. “They said that throughout the tenure of Bola Tinubu, we will be hungry and will continue to be more hungry. They say 3.6% of the poor will continue to enter into deeper poverty.”
Inside Sources with Laolu Akande, a twice in a week current affairs programme, continues to spark national conversations with its incisive interviews and bold commentary, positioning it as one of Nigeria and Channels TV’s most engaging platforms for political and social discourse.
