UCL: Lookman’s Missed Penalty Costs Atalanta as Club Brugge Secures 3-1 Win

Club Brugge secured a stunning 3-1 victory over Atalanta in Italy on Tuesday, knocking the Serie A side out of the UEFA Champions League. The Belgian club won the two-legged play-off tie 5-2 on aggregate and advanced to the tournament’s last 16.

Club Brugge had the upper hand after winning the first leg 2-1 at home, and they wasted no time extending their lead in the return fixture. Chemsdine Talbi struck twice in the first half, while Ferran Jutgla added another goal, leaving Atalanta with a difficult task.

Atalanta had a chance to fight back when Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman stepped up for a penalty, but he failed to convert. Despite later scoring a consolation goal, it was too little, too late. Club Brugge’s victory means they will now face either Lille or Aston Villa in the next round.
