A 38-year-old PhD student from the University of Benin, Iyabonmwen McOliver, has made a heartfelt plea to Dr. Daniel Olukoya, General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), seeking spiritual deliverance.
McOliver claims that she and her mother, Mrs. Julie Ewemade McOliver, are under the influence of a powerful ancestral deity connected to the Benin Kingdom.
According to McOliver, she has evidence that two historical princesses—Princess Edelayo Ewuare, the daughter of Oba Ewuare I, who ruled between 1440 and 1470, and Princess Ughiwiyisi Eweka—have spiritually reincarnated through herself and her mother.
McOliver explained that she wishes to be freed from this connection, as her Christian faith does not align with the traditional beliefs associated with these deities. She believes that only Pastor Olukoya’s intervention can provide the deliverance they seek.
Originally from Abba-Nsugbe in Anambra State, McOliver says her family has ties to the Benin royal lineage, describing her paternal great-grandmother as the daughter of Oba Eweka II, which makes her grandfather the first grandson of Oba Eweka II. This connection, she claims, has brought complex traditional and ancestral expectations upon her, which she does not wish to embrace.
She said; “I am appealing to Dr. Odukoya to conduct deliverance for me and my mother because these princesses were used by a certain deity and information has gotten to me that I am the Queen Mother of Edo South East. Some princes and princesses left the kingdom to form other parts and tribes including some parts across the Niger.
“I cannot be claiming my ancestors because there were some gods they served that were related to human beings I am not currently serving deities
“We need to be separated from these two deities and these princesses they are claiming have reincarnated in us and it is only Olukoya that can help.”
“There is a deity that is making these people reincarnate and that deity is now disturbing Iyabo McOliver but I now want this ancestral deliverance and that is what the Mountain of Fire Ministry was established for
“I also discovered that some churches even worship this deity as the Virgin Mary, there are people who are close to this deity and they have their image which they worship.” She claimed.
“I want to be delivered I don’t want to have anything to do with this deity I am not looking for the glory of those practices, I am a human being and I want the glory of Jesus Christ and I want to be delivered because anytime they see me, they say I am my great grandmother, I am a woman being.”
