Victor Osimhen’s Move to Saudi Arabia Still Possible Despite European Transfer Window Closure

Victor Osimhen’s move from Napoli to Chelsea fell through late Friday night, but the Nigerian striker’s transfer hopes are not entirely dashed. Chelsea, keen to acquire Osimhen, failed to meet his demands and those of Napoli, the club he currently plays for.

Although the European transfer window has closed, Osimhen still has the chance to make a big move to the Saudi Pro League, where the transfer window remains open until September 2.

Reports indicate that Al Ahli, a major club in Saudi Arabia, had proposed an impressive deal worth over ₦50 billion (approximately €80 million) for Osimhen.

Despite the attractive offer, Napoli hindered the transfer due to disagreements over the final price. Napoli demanded an additional €5 million, which led Al Ahli to reconsider their bid. They eventually opted to sign Brentford’s Ivan Toney for €40 million instead.

Osimhen’s hopes briefly turned to England, where Chelsea offered him a substantial €350,000 weekly wage. However, this offer did not meet Osimhen’s expectations, and the deal with Chelsea collapsed.

With only a few days left before the Saudi transfer window closes, there is still a strong possibility that Osimhen could secure a move to a Saudi Arabian club.

Interest from various Saudi teams remains high, and a last-minute bid, possibly from high-profile clubs like Al-Nassr, could present a viable opportunity for the striker.
