Nigerian actress and media personality Omotunde Adebowale, popularly known as Lolo 1, has accused police officers escorting a Lagos lawmaker of harassment.
In a video posted on her Instagram page on Wednesday, Lolo 1 claimed that the officers threatened to kill her and her driver while also attempting to seize her car keys. She alleged that the incident occurred when her vehicle was forced off the road to make way for the lawmaker’s convoy.
The footage shows the actress confronting the officers, demanding an explanation for their actions. She called on Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to intervene, urging the public to witness the incident.
“Lagos, come and see your people. Governor Sanwo-Olu come and see your people, they want to kill us, they are threatening to kill us. Over what? What honorable is in that car? Come and kill us here, wicked people,” she said.
She further alleged that the officers falsely accused her and her driver of attempting to kidnap them, a claim she strongly denied.
In the video, Lolo 1 insisted that she would not be intimidated. She questioned why she was being forced to stop after being pushed off the road, asserting her right to stand her ground.
“They pushed us out of the road and they are still saying that we should park, park for what? We would not move, whatever honorable is in that car would come outside. I am a press person, you cannot kill me,” she said.
During an interview, Lolo 1 recounted how the officers accused her of damaging the government vehicle. She claimed they took her car keys and attempted to force her into their vehicle, but she refused to comply.
“The police officers had stopped the car; they said I scratched the government car, and they were the ones that scratched me. Three of them came out to my car, took my car key, ordered me into their car… and I said no,” she said.
