Just days after a dramatic 5-4 win over Lyon in the Europa League, Manchester United fell flat at home, losing 1-0 to Wolves in the Premier League. A brilliant free-kick by Pablo Sarabia in the 77th minute was enough to secure all three points for the visitors.
The loss marked United’s 15th league defeat of the season, a club record, and their lowest-ever points tally is now inevitable. Wolves, on the other hand, secured their fifth consecutive victory and their first league double over United since 1980.
Despite some early chances, including shots from Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund, United couldn’t find the net. Wolves grew into the match, with Sarabia’s stunning strike leaving Andre Onana helpless.
United pushed for an equalizer but Bruno Fernandes’ late opportunity went wide.
