Popular and often controversial Nigerian cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, known widely as Bobrisky, has shared the reasons behind his temporary departure from Nigeria.
The decision follows multiple complications he faced while attempting to leave the country, including two unsuccessful attempts to fly from Lagos to London.
Last Thursday, Bobrisky was reportedly stopped and removed from a KLM flight to Amsterdam at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, further delaying his travel plans.
Reflecting on the ordeal, he expressed frustration over his treatment by certain Nigerian security agencies, stating that they appeared to make intentional efforts to hinder his movements.
“Yes, I’m here to confirm I’m out of Nigeria temporarily. I need to attend to my sanity and my health,” he explained in an Instagram post on Monday, hinting at the emotional toll these disruptions had caused.
Bobrisky, who eventually succeeded in leaving Nigeria on November 3, also disclosed the significant financial loss he encountered in the process. According to him, he had to purchase business class tickets three times to make his departure possible.
He called on KLM for a refund of approximately N9.8 million for each of the two tickets he was unable to use. “KLM, I hope you guys refund me the two I didn’t use,” he wrote.
