Yobe Photographer Breaks Guinness World Record

A young photographer from Yobe State, Saidu Abdulrahaman, has secured a place in the Guinness World Records after successfully capturing 897 headshot photographs in just one hour. The 28-year-old accomplished this remarkable feat in September 2024, snapping pictures of students at Government Day Secondary School in Potiskum.

His achievement has now been officially recognized, earning him a Guinness World Records certificate. The record-breaking attempt required both speed and precision, as Abdulrahaman had to ensure that each headshot met the necessary standards while working against the clock.

Upon receiving the certificate, he presented it to the Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni, in a show of appreciation for the support he received. Speaking about his accomplishment, Abdulrahaman expressed gratitude to all those who stood by him throughout the journey.

‘‘This achievement is not just mine alone; it belongs to every Nigerian who believed in me, supported me, and cheered me on from start to finish.

‘‘It represents not only my dedication and hard work but also the unwavering support of my family, friends, mentors, and all well-wishers who stood by me. Every message of encouragement, every prayer, and every bit of motivation I received played a crucial role in making this dream a reality.

‘‘Breaking a world record is never an easy feat. It requires focus, skill, and endurance, but most importantly, it requires the support of a strong community. I dedicate this milestone to all Nigerians, showing that with determination, anything is possible. This record is proof that we are capable of achieving greatness on the global stage.”

Governor Buni commended the young photographer’s determination, describing his success as a source of motivation for young people in Yobe and across Nigeria. He urged other youths to pursue their dreams regardless of obstacles they might face.

The governor also noted that his administration is committed to identifying and supporting talents across different fields. He stated that creating opportunities for young achievers to gain recognition and resources is essential for their growth and success.
