The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that they will soon start receiving a new monthly allowance of N77,000.
This announcement was made during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company in Abuja.
Brigadier General Ahmed stated that all necessary arrangements for the increment have been finalized. While addressing the audience, he emphasized that the welfare and security of corps members remain his top priorities.
“By 2025, corps members will receive all the benefits they deserve,” the DG assured.
The newly donated bus is intended to help ease the transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff. Brigadier General Ahmed acknowledged that both staff and corps members often struggle with transportation, especially within the Abuja metropolis.
Speaking on behalf of Capital Express Insurance Company, the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, highlighted the longstanding partnership between his company and the NYSC.
He explained that the donation was part of their commitment to support the scheme’s operations, particularly with the rising cost of fuel and transportation in Abuja.
“The legacy of every organization is the impact they make in the society they find themselves, hence, they should always give back to the society,” Ogwezhi remarked.
