Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has responded to a new controversy sparked by a leaked phone conversation. The call was shared by influencer Martins Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, leading to fresh discussions about Bobrisky’s legal troubles and lifestyle.
The leaked audio recording, which surfaced on Monday, reportedly captures Bobrisky addressing rumors about his supposed time in prison. According to the recording, Bobrisky allegedly admitted that although people believed he was incarcerated, he was not actually in prison. Instead, he was said to be staying in a well-furnished apartment near the prison and had access to his mobile phone throughout.
In response to the release of the audio, Bobrisky took to his Instagram story, where he posted a cryptic message: “Nurse Titi, your patient is out again.” While the meaning of the message remains unclear, many have speculated that it was directed at his critics, particularly VeryDarkMan, with whom he has been involved in several public disputes.
The controversy between Bobrisky and VeryDarkMan is not new. Just last month, in September, VeryDarkMan shared another audio clip, alleging that Bobrisky bribed officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) with N15 million. The influencer claimed that Bobrisky paid the bribe to have money laundering charges against him dropped after being sentenced to six months in jail for the mutilation of the Nigerian currency.
Bobrisky, however, vehemently denied the bribery accusations, insisting that the claims were false. He also dismissed the rumor that he had avoided prison time, stating that he was indeed jailed, and there was no truth to the allegations being circulated online.
Additionally, Bobrisky reportedly mentioned in the leaked call that contrary to accusations of being involved in fraudulent activities, his wealth comes from legitimate sources. He allegedly highlighted social media influencing as one of his main income streams, claiming he earns as much as $100,000 for promotional work.
