Osimhen’s Hits Brace, Powers Galatasaray to Dominant 5-1 Victory Over Kayserispor

Victor Osimhen showcased his goal-scoring prowess on Sunday afternoon, leading Galatasaray to a commanding 5-1 away win over Kayserispor in the Trendyol Süper Lig. The match, held at the Kadir Has Stadium, saw Osimhen netting twice and playing a key role in his team’s dominant performance.

This was Osimhen’s first start after recovering from an injury, and he wasted no time reminding fans of his exceptional skills. The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the fourth minute, converting a penalty calmly after a Kayserispor defender was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.

However, Kayserispor responded quickly through Stephane Bahoken, who leveled the score in the 15th minute. Bahoken headed in a well-placed corner from Kartal Yilmaz to make it 1-1.

Despite the equalizer, Galatasaray regained the lead shortly afterward. Osimhen, showcasing his vision, passed to Yunus Akgün, who then set up Dries Mertens. Mertens’ shot was blocked by the goalkeeper, but Barış Alper Yılmaz was quick to react and scored the rebound to put Galatasaray back in front.

The second half saw Galatasaray continue to dominate. A brilliant strike from Akgün in the 51st minute extended their lead with a shot into the bottom corner of the net. Osimhen, always in the right place at the right time, scored again in the 71st minute. He chipped the ball delicately over the goalkeeper after a perfectly timed assist from Akgün.

With the score now 4-1, Osimhen was substituted in the 86th minute to a standing ovation from the Galatasaray supporters. The victory was capped off in the 89th minute when Yilmaz finished calmly, securing the final 5-1 scoreline for Galatasaray.

Osimhen’s brace brought his total to nine goals in the league this season, just one behind the current top scorers, Krzysztof Piątek and Simon Banza.
