The newly appointed National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Senator David Mark, noted that the journey to form a strong coalition ahead of the 2027 presidential election will not be an easy one.
He made this known on Wednesday during a public event at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, where the ADC was officially introduced as the platform that will lead opposition efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the next general election.
Speaking to party supporters and key political figures present at the unveiling, Mark explained that the coming political battle will require strength, patience, and sacrifice from everyone involved. “We know it won’t be a smooth ride,” he said. “But for the good of our country, we are ready to give our all.”
He stressed the importance of unity among opposition parties, noting that it is only through teamwork and understanding that real change can happen in Nigeria. He described the coalition as more than just a political arrangement, calling it a duty to rescue the country from its current struggles.
“We are not doing this for personal gain,” Mark noted. “This is a sacrifice for the survival of our country and the progress of our people.”
Mark also shared his belief that Nigeria needs new ideas and new energy to fix its problems. According to him, the current leadership under Tinubu has failed to meet the hopes of millions of Nigerians. He said the ADC-led coalition will offer a fresh path forward that focuses on fairness, security, and real development.
