JUST IN: Ganduje Speaks On Running For Presidency In 2027

Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has firmly denied rumors that he is planning to run for the presidency in the 2027 elections.

The denial follows the spread of a misleading poster on social media, which falsely claims that Ganduje will be running for president with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as his vice-presidential candidate.

The poster, which has been making rounds on various social media platforms, shows Ganduje dressed in blue Babariga, symbolizing his supposed candidacy for the presidency, while Uzodimma is depicted in white attire with a red cap, purportedly as his running mate. The poster is captioned with, “The Winning Team 2027. Vote APC 2027. For Nigerians, prosperity and human development.”

Ganduje’s spokesman, Edwin Olofu, issued a statement from Abuja on Sunday to address the situation. According to the statement, the poster and the associated claims are entirely fabricated and designed to mislead the public. Ganduje has labeled the poster as a piece of malicious fake news, created to create a rift between him and President Bola Tinubu.

The statement reads, “This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, is contesting for the presidency in 2027 with Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news.

“The All Progressives Congress wishes to categorically state that this is the work of mischief-makers, likely in collaboration with certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement, who are determined to create disaffection between Dr. Ganduje and His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“For the avoidance of doubt, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje remains unwaveringly loyal to President Tinubu and is fully committed to supporting the President’s vision and leadership. Dr. Ganduje believes that President Tinubu is on the right trajectory to steer Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.”
